Dr. Francis Lau Chui Sing passed his medical undergraduate, MBChB, at Aberdeen University, Scotland in 1994. Dr. Chen Chee Kean

Dr. Chen Chee Kean is a Consultant Anaesthesiologist with specialist training in Interventional Pain Management. He received his medical degree from University Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) in 2002 and completed anaesthesiology residency and specialist training at University Science Malaysia (USM) in 2010. Subsequently, Dr. Chen became member of Academy of Medicine Malaysia in 2013.

Dr. Chen is one of the few specialists in Malaysia who was awarded with Fellowship in Interventional Pain Practice (FIPP) from World Institute of Pain, USA in 2012 after completed training and passed in Interventional Pain Practice Examination. His keen interest is in treating chronic neck pain, low back pain, face pain, postoperative pain and neuropathic pain with minimally invasive radiofrequency technique and laser technology. Minimally invasive interventional pain treatment is an advanced therapy for chronic pain conditions. This latest treatment is an alternative to surgery. It reduces the need for surgery, and unwanted side-effects of long-term pain medications.

During his tenure government and other private hospitals, Dr. Chen practiced as clinical anesthesiologist for various types of surgery, provided care for ICU patients and managed chronic pain patients in Pain Clinic. Dr. Chen has also been actively involved in providing training in the field of interventional pain management and regional anaesthesia. He has been invited as speaker and trainer to various training events in this region. Besides being an active journal reviewer, Dr. Chen has authored and published more than twenty scientific papers and abstracts in the field of chronic pain management and anaesthesiology in international peer-reviewed journals.

    Dr. Soon Su Yang graduated from University of Nottingham, UK in 1992. After completing his housemanship, he works as a Senior House Officer in general medicine and obtained his MRCP (UK) in 1997. He then decided to pursue higher specialist training in gastroenterology and general internal medicine. She has published a paper for the Academy of Medicine Congress 1982 (co-authored with yeo PBB) on the topic “Grave’s Disease” and Malaysian Medical journal in March 1991 on the topic of ‘Rett Syndrome’. Her special interest is in Ambulatory Paediatrics, especially Paediatric Vaccination as Preventive therapy.

    Dr. Florence Bakon

    Her special interests are in the field of Neonatology, Clinical Immunology as well as Allergy. In 2015, she underwent a fellowship in Clinical Immunology & Allergy at UKM Medical Centre.

    Dr. Florence has also participated in multiple healthcare missions with clubs and associations such as the Rotary Club and Mercy Malaysia.

    Besides that, Dr. Florence is also a Senior medical Lecturer in the Faculty of Medicine in Univesiti Malaysia Sarawak since June 2012.     He was promoted as Consultant Radiologist and head of Department of Radiology, Sarawak General Hospital from year 2000 to 2004 before his appointment as Consultant radiologist at Normah Specialist Centre, Kuching. Subsequently, Dr. Chen joined Kuching Specialist Hospital as the Resident radiologist in 2009.

    Dr. Chan Siew Hong

    Dr. Chan Siew Hong graduated with MBBS from University Malaya in 1999. He did his housemanship and early surgical training in Sarawak General Hospital, obtaining his MRCS (UK) in 2003 and then Masters of General Surgery (University Malaya) in 2007.
